How nice! I was raised as a Christian and have been 'evangelical' for years until I totally lost my faith, and realised I was always told I HAD TO CHOOSE. I suddenly realised I did not have to coose anything and be open minded about everything, just like you!

I don't have to know, I will never know, and I don't have to choose. I have the same attitude towards aliens, I can accept people experience and see strange things but I don't have to choose anything, I don't have to believe anything, just listen and read and be amazed.

About your last thoughts, I have thought about that too for a long time and here's what I came up with:

All information we know and can access at will is stored using matter, be it rock, clay, papyrus, paper or SSD's. All information is sequential, lineair, lineair written and lineair processed. That is a time-based concept. Throw all the characters of a book in the air, and all meaning is lost. Without the natural flow of time no meaning or information. And that's not only true for storage but also for processing, sensors, decision making, etc. Some people talk about beings of light or energy. But light is a photon and travels with the speed of light. It can't be used to store information so it can be accessed.

All logic, information, intelligence is subject to and finds its root in causality, and causality is at the heart of what we call the flow of time. First A and B and the result is C. Take causality out of the equation and it's gibberish. Without time this makes no sense. So there is no mechanism we can come up with to describe a 'timeless' being that is intelligent, eternal and omnipotent, has reason and logic.

How 'bout that one?

Hi, I'm a loser like you and a specimen of the hidious race that is pestering this earth and making it inhabitable for all known lifeforms.

Sounds like we may choose different words, but our meanings are not that different. I had to smile when you talked about aliens because I almost used the same example in my last message. We are completely in sync on that subject.
We also completely agree about causality and what it implies.
